Please go back and write that entire diatribe on the form! It’s insulting to ask if you’re tired. It’s a permanent state of being. Instead, they should offer you a “nap room” and watch your kids for an hour. Glad you’re feeling better super woman!

Ha ha ha, yes! Next time I will do it. They already got a letter from me as this is the same medical group where my son was born. I am probably flagged in the system - which is good because they'll know I am coming!

Love love love this. I get huge cold sores on my lower lip when I’ve been holding in too much emotional stress. Chicken pox leaves herpes simplex virus as a hostess gift. So thoughtful!

No Moms, We All Die is brilliant and funny. You are carrying a heavy load. I had to wonder if you had a Mom or Mom-like person in your own life. I hope so.

Elizabeth, thank you! It is amazing how our bodies respond and it seems we are just waking up to this fact again. I would have much rather preferred a 1986 Bordeaux as a hostess gift from chicken pox, would have aged well! Ha! Thank you for your kind words about no moms we all die. There is truth in humor! I do have an amazing mother - strong, capable, commanding. Shingles trembles in her wake. Unfortunately, she has Parkinson's and associated dementia and while she cannot physically help, I carry her heart in my heart.

Feeling this Emily. I haven’t had it but I have heard shingles is awful. My partner had it when I just gave birth to our second son, so he wasn’t allowed to complain! But it was in part caused by stress and I so hear what you are saying about motherhood and caring not being valued in society. It infuriates me I assure you! I hope you had chance to rest. Take care.

Kylie-Ann, having experience both shingles and three childbirths, I am going to go out on a limb and say shingles for me might have been worse in the sense that I didn't DO ANYTHING just ended up with this painful rash. At least with childbirth I brought forth a human life. But no, your partner wasn't allowed to complain, I get it! I have had a chance to rest and reset and starting running again in little bits - getting that sweat out has been helpful. The solidarity in being seen is so helpful, and I am so grateful you continue to show up for me here. Thank you. Hugs.
