Whether you are a lactater or a runner, you can relate:
You spend months training and gearing up
Your body gets wrecked
You simultaneously love it and hate it
It takes hours
Without fail, you have to go to the bathroom at the most inopportune time
Your nipples get chafed
You are obsessed with timing
You are physically exhausted
You drink an absurd amount of fluid
Well-timed fuel is critical
You can go from being ravenously hungry to forgetting to eat completely
You are obsessed with talking about it
You’re glad you did it
You forget how hard it is and willingly sign up to do it again
Medals for all you mamas and/or marathoners out there.
Last week I talked about putting my body back together and getting back into running. Link here ICYMI. I wanted to share my pre-dawn exercise area. Don’t let the amount of light fool you - the camera adjusted the flash in order to capture the pic. This is next to my bed where I turn on a tiny reading light and crack open the window so I can exercise as quietly as possible in the dark without disturbing the banshee…er baby…in the room next door.
I’m also excited to share that Let it Flow: A Journal to Guide You on Your Breastfeeding Journey is available at Barnes & Noble online! I would spend hours at B&N growing up, so it’s humbling to have them sell my book.
Let it Flow is a journal designed to support you on your breastfeeding journey - whether you are exclusively breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, or somewhere in between. None of it is easy, and stress can take a toll on milk supply. This simple, daily journaling process is designed to help you get centered, find calm, and re-establish trust with your own intuition.
When I ran my first marathon I got injured and struggled to get across the finish line. I had friends and fans run alongside me those last few miles to get me there. That’s my goal with The Letdown - to make sure you know that you have someone to run you in when you don’t think you can finish. Thank you for reading.
Great analogy…. Sounds like running the marathon is easier 😂
Congratulations on your journal release! ✨
